A skeletal isopod that even creeps out other deep-sea creatures An albatross Psychopomp, probably with Aftermath A creature that combines the ideas of a siren and a banshee Davy Jones, based on his original, “demonic” description possibly with shark features A Bake-kujira, possibly a “boss” to some of the fishier phantoms An Aka shita based spook that looks like a creepy rain cloud long red tongue is a necessity A crying phantom based on La Llorona, capable of fighting with its tears

A ghoulish deep-sea fish pretty much any of the ones with giant milky eyes and jaws full of needly teeth One of the creepier or stranger anglerfish maybe has a skull lure Some sort of “sun idol”, like a ghost that haunts the artifacts of a temple or tomb of a Sun god A hellmouth, based on the Anglo-Saxon artistic tradition possibly torments other ghosts Some form of Djinn/Ifrit based on modern Western depictions of “genies” A hitodama/fireball type monster based on ones that take form and steal lantern oil, particularly Abura akago and Ubagabi An adaptation of the mythological “Headless Mule” A ghostly Phoenix playing up the “death and rebirth” aspect A dancing will-o'-the-wisp that confuses travelers A rat monster that scares away humans to eat their food A creepy coyote or wolf monster that communes with/relies on the spirits of its pack/ancestors Some sort of forest critter that looks scary to ward off predators I imagine there's a “costume shop” to facilitate this A trick-or-treater, probably having different forms/costumes. An opossum that actually dies and resurrects! A creature playing on the “blurry line” between mental illness and possession, possibly incorporating Legion A creepy doll possessed by a malevolent spirit A Shiro ukari type being that wanders around hoping to find someone to scare Creepy ghouls that need cameras to be found Ghostly hyenas that prey on the living and the dead Skeleton, starting from a skull and building up A “Bedsheet ghost” with an actual bedspread theme All I ask is that you show me what you did I'd love to see how people interpret them.

I hope to use these some day, but that doesn't mean they're just for me! Feel free to use any of these concepts. As promised previously, I will be posting a list of concepts for Ghost Pokémon.įor those unfamiliar with the inspiration (Bogleech/ scythemantis ): My goal was to take the Ghost type and all 17 possible dual types featuring it, and come up with at least 8 concepts for Pokémon of each type and/or combination, as well as a bonus Legendary Pokémon to go with them.
